When comparing non-invasive body contouring options, Evolve and CoolSculpting are two of the most hyped-up procedures on the market. They are both non-invasive treatments with little to no recovery time or aftercare, and both can considerably impact the appearance of your body.
Evolve and CoolSculpting treat stubborn fat deposits and cellulite issues that seem impossible to eliminate. There are a lot of similarities in how the procedures work, with the results being similar as well. However, Evolve, the least expensive procedure, provides benefits that go far beyond the capabilities of Coolsculpting.
Let’s briefly overview each procedure and discuss the differences between the two. This information and a consultation with one of our providers will help you determine the best treatment for you and your goals.
What is Evolve?
Evolve is a revolutionary new technology that uses radio frequency energy to tighten the skin and reduce fat cells, PLUS EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) to tone and build muscle. This trifecta of results from one treatment definitely gives you more bang for your buck in a single treatment session!
Radiofrequency is a non-invasive treatment for cellulite reduction that uses directed energy to destroy fat cells, which releases connective tissue that causes dimpling and encourages improved skin texture. The EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) generates a higher rate of blood flow to the targeted muscles, not only helping to repair the tissues but also building and strengthening them.
Your provider will place the Evolve device directly on the desired treatment area. Treatment will typically take between 20 and 60 minutes. You may feel minimal tingling near the treatment area, but Evolve is usually not painful. You can resume your daily activities directly after completing an Evolve treatment.
The results Evolve produces can be dramatic and include substantial fat reduction, tightening of sagging skin, AND increased muscle definition! You will start to see initial results directly following treatment, but full results will take approximately 8-10 weeks.
What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive, FDA-approved fat-reduction treatment. It is used alternatively to liposuction as it is a non-surgical means to remove stubborn areas of fat that do not respond to diet or exercise. Like Evolve, CoolSculpting can be used anywhere on the body.
CoolSculpting exposes fat cells beneath the skin’s surface to extremely low temperatures. The low temperatures cause the fat cells to die and leave the body. During CoolSculpting, your provider will strap a device onto your skin and let it run for the allotted time frame. Sessions are short and usually take between 30 minutes to an hour. You will need between four or five treatment cycles to see results.
Results with CoolSculpting can also be pretty dramatic. Patients see between a 20 to 25% reduction of fat cells in the treatment area but will not see the benefits of EMS for a more defined or toned look.
Similar to Evolve, there is no recovery time after CoolSculpting. Some patients feel soreness afterward, but this is no more painful than the muscle fatigue you might feel after an intense workout. You are free to resume your regular activities right away. There is the possibility of some swelling in the treatment area for one to two weeks after treatment.
What Is The Difference between Coolsculpting and Evolve?
As we pointed out, the most significant difference between CoolSculpting and Evolve is that Coolsculpting focuses only on fat reduction, while Evolve focuses on fat reduction, muscle toning, and skin tightening. A difference that is very important to most patients.
Evolve vs. CoolSculpting: The Bottom Line
Evolve and CoolSculpting are non-invasive, low-risk procedures that can substantially improve your physical appearance. Which, in turn, can help improve your self-esteem and self-image. However, it is obvious that Evolve will give you the most bang for your buck with its wider range of treatment capabilities.
Advanced Medical Spa uses Evolve technology to give you the most effective, all-in-one body contouring treatment available. Can anything go wrong with CoolSculpting?
Sometimes, a rare but serious adverse effect of CoolSculpting may occur, which is known as paradoxical adipose hyperplasia. In this case, the fat cells in the treated area start to increase in size instead of decreasing. This condition is observed more frequently in male patients, and the exact cause of this phenomenon is still unknown.
Can anything go wrong with Evolve?
There are no known lasting side effects with Evolve, and we consider it the safer option compared to CoolSculpting. Though rare, some patients have experienced dry and/or red skin or other temporary skin conditions. During your initial consultation at Advanced Medical Spa, a licensed provider will give you details on using Evolve and other InMode technology to determine the safest, most effective treatment for your body and skin type.
